Very nice question! When one can apply alternatives to animal experiments in therapy development is very project-specific and depends on the phase of development. One can take a look at various databases to search for alternative methods (see other topic in this forum for examples). At the 3Rs Centre Utrecht we are also happy to think along and offer tailored advice (3RCU@uu.nl).
