The ZonMw program Rational Pharmacotherapy has a subsidy round open ‘’ Research with Existing Data Round 2’’ this allows project ideas to be submitted in which Real World Data (RWD) from registries are used to answer questions about drug use. The use of RWD must have demonstrable added value within the project. Examples include projects in which the effectiveness of drugs in daily healthcare practice is determined or projects in which rare diseases are investigated for which traditional clinical research is not feasible.
